Howdy Miss Grace and welcome to our little corner of the electronic hallways of the inner-web. I wish I could send you some South Texas weather. I live in Corpus Christi right on the Gulf of Mexico and over the years my friends from across the pond in your neck of the woods especially always asked me to email them some better weather. It is winter here and I have been running around in shorts and t-shirts. I will see if I can make you a RAR file of some clear skies and comfortable temps ;)

    Good morning Miss Grace,

I believe the best word I ever heard to describe your weather was "Dreary". Please be careful on that slope, I'm sure there are children that are going to need and benefit from counseling. I do not know this first hand although I would love to come and visit. I have been around the globe one time and have been to many different countries. But my travels did not include your neck of the woods; maybe one day.

I will try and do your survey here in the next few days. I don't know if you have read my intro, but I have to sort of be taking it most of the time. When the energy levels are up and I have some time during that blessed event:) I will get to your survey, I promise. I have not seen it anywhere yet, but that does not mean you have not already answered these questions, so I apologize ahead of time if I am making you repeat yourself. What are your favorite games to play? Do you like to be tactical and quiet during FPS or just run in, smash and grab kind of FPS? Do you like to campaign by yourself, or with a friend at home? Or is it all about being online and interacting with other players for you?

OK I will quit buggin you, well, for now, that is LOL

Dreary is definitely the right word to use to describe it hahaha, all the ice has melted now thank goodness so I’m not going to slide all the way down hahaha and yes I’m sure a lot of kids will definitely benefit, will try my best to help them out!

You should definitely come and visit it will be an experience, if you come to Liverpool you probably won’t have a clue what half of us are saying :brittish: and thank you so much, would be amazing if you could do it for me, still need another 68 people to do it by the end of the month which is going to be so hard :(.

My favourite games are fallout 4, spyro, animal crossing, professor layton, just dance and pokemon (a real variety hahaha) and I’m currently playing fallout 78 at the moment but I don’t have anyone to play it with so it’s quite hard, I also play destiny and used to play COD but don’t play it much now because everyone’s moves on to the new one and I cba buying it LOL.

In FPS I actually take both tactics depending on if I’m feeling bold. I’m usually quite tactical but sometimes I just think fuck it and just run in guns blazing :D. When I play FPS I usually play with other people if it’s an online game because I think it’s more fun to play with friends, if it’s games like fallout and borderlands though I tend to play by myself because they’re mainly single player or heavy story based. Do play destiny with others as well though and that’s very story based so I guess that logic is flawed ;).

So what about you what type of games do you play/are your favourites?

I just started Destiny a few weeks ago and I am really enjoying it. I only have a plain PSN account so far, so online w/folks has been limited. I really only tried on a couple of games so far. I have a Destiny, Destiny 2 and just bought a Destiny 2 Special Edition this or that I think, can't remember at the moment. The whole thing is a little weird, so it will show up as a story and a question in another section, then maybe you'll understand what I mean. Don't want to type it out a couple times, as I do not type very well, my speeling and grammar are not so good and it takes time to use the fix meI am DUMB app LOL

Way back when w/PS2 I used to play online when it was free to play. The only game I actually played though was SOCOM Confrontation. It was great and I found guys that were mostly Navy Vets like myself and around the same age right away to play with. That made it easier as a SUPER noob. A house fire sort of cut my learning and growing as an FPS shoert. Now I am back all these years later and feel as if I am starting for the first time over again. That is one of the reasons I have not bought the PS Plus yet. Money is the second reason, but isn't it always? Living on a fixed income I have to take small bites. And I do not see much sense in paying just to repeatedly die over and over again, instantly and all the time. I could find some folks that wanted to play campaigning like I do, but I feel as if I would just drag them down as a noob. I need more learning playing alone for now. Oh and your logic is not flawed it just needs to be worded differently ;)

I am for the most part nothing but a solid FPS. I started playing with my son years ago on a Dreamcast and Sonic the Hedgehog, Mag Racer and one I just recently found for the PS2 I just loved on Dreamcast called WORMS. If you have never heard of and/ or played WORMS, look it up I think it will be a favorite of yours as well. You can play against the AI, but it is way more fun with 2 or 4 players.

I moved to SOCOM very quickly once I bought a PS2. I bought all the SOCOM games that were out for the PS2 and that is all I basically played. But as I mentioned a fire cut short my learning and I only got back into gaming this last half or so of 2018. I sort of went NUTZ buying a PS2 (two of them by mistake, anybody need a nice PS2? LOL),3, PSP, 4 PRO, PS Vita, games a Scuf along with a pair of Turtle Beach Stealth 700s. I am seriously wanting to become a better gamer. So when I can and I am up to it I am on one of the consoles. I have a few ailments that prohibit me from playing all that I would like to. Cool thing is that my neurologist says that playing games is good for me, so I am following Dr's order ;)

I made sure that the first thing I did was find all of the old SOCOM games and bought them. I sure wish they would make a new one for the PS4. I added some assorted C.O.D. and a few others and dove in head first. The main thing that I am doing is Sniping a lot. I loved it when I was the sniper back when playing SOCOM years ago but did not realize how much until I bought Elite Sniper V2. Turns out it seems to be my favorite posistion and since then I have snagged all of the Elite titles and a couple of the Ghost Warrior Sniper games as well. I think after I am done here this morning I am getting Ghost Warrior 3. I found it on eBay for a really great price and the impulsive nature in me is going to win again ;) eed to check and see if there are anymore versions of either game. Sniping may not be the best way to get back into the game as there is not a lot of face to face playing unless you mess up. I do more of that than I care to admit, but it is improving my gaming so it is OK.

I have a new friend that I made on a Sniper Elite 4 group on PSN and he is going to help me out as far as learning more about the face to face play as well as teach me a few tricks for certain games and basically just plain old gamesmanship. I thought you could not play online unless you had the Plus membership. It was a nice surprise to find out I can play online, well at least a few games so far and have even found a couple free ones that Sony is willing to part with, belive it or not FREE that look very promising. My friend is also playing both of them as well, so we are going to team up on those as well. I still don't know much about the whole PSN thing and nothing about Plus but I'm willing to and am learning.

Oh! I forgot to mention Red Dead Redemption. My youngest son, well not so young anymore he will be thirty at the end of April. My God, I am getting old. When he found out I was playing Red Dead, he just could not believe it. Even worse, I traded the PS4 slim that he gave me at the beginning of December, for A PS4 Pro around the twenty-fith of Santa month. Got a great deal and I mean a GREAT deal on the PS4 Pro, Red Dead 2 edition, so I went for it. Thank you Capital One. He could not believe how cheap I got it so he is happy I upgraded.

I am not too far spread out around the map as far as types of games go. And need to get out and get some face to face learning so that I can be more valuable as a teammate other than Sniping. I am sure that others I will want to snipe as well. I am not the type to be a hog or demanding, so I will take other positions.

I am more tactical than anything else. I always played SOCOM online and off the way SEALS would. I would try to get in and out without being seen. Not always possible but more doable than most people think. Run and Gun time used to be with the oldest son and the XBOX original with the HALO franchise. We use to have a BLAST! I plan on adding an Xbox, Xbox 360 and an Xbox one x this year if possible to my arsenal. When my son can make it to town we will be killing Aliens left and right once more.

As I end this novella (I tend to ramble a bit as if you had not noticed) There was a game called Need for Speed Carbon that came out when the boys were with me that was supposed to be this great big deal. That is when I found out Gamers will sleep on sidewalks for days, just so they can be the first to get a game. Nutz if you ask me, but to each his own. Back to the game. The boys would always hit restart anytime that they were not first off the line. Not the old man, I learned to crash, be behind and a long way behind and of course losing. But, I learned to get off the line faster, pass, go around corners etc. Both of the boys were very embarrassed and really mad when the OLD man whipped their butts not just once, but repeatedly. Their butts were mine on that game and they did not stand a chance of beating me as they were not willing to put the time in. They could whoop me on any other game but I owned them on Carbon.

I am sure your eyes are tired if you have made it this far down the post. And maybe like my brothers on menwithfibro.com, you have had to take it is small pieces a few chapters at a time. I apologize for the inconvenience and/or eye strain w/headache. But like I shared somewhere else here, I love to talk and share, so you can
expect more of these long winded posts in the future,
for those of Y'all that live in the 140 characters Twitter type of a world ;)

PS: Miss Grace, I hope that I have answered all of your questions sufficiently ;)

PS:2 Mass Effect, I really like that game, the story is very interesting to me as I am a Sci-Fi nut. And as most of already think, just plalin NUTZ ;)

Oh this has definitely answered my question in thorough detail, thanks!

I agree that there’s probably no point you paying for PlayStation plus at the moment until after you’ve got back into it, online games with people can be really hard especially if you’re not experienced in the game. When you do end up betting PlayStation plus though you get games every month that you can download and play across different PlayStation consoles such as PS4, ps3 and PSP. You have access to them for as long as you have PlayStation plus for so that will add a lot more games to your catalogue and a lot of them are pretty decent games to be honest.

I’m not going to lie I’ve never played SOCOM, just doesn’t feel like a game for me, I’m not good enough at shooters for it hahaha. I used to love sonic the hedgehog, I used to play it on the Sega mega drive when I was little and I’m talking real little like age 3. I have worms Armageddon on the PS4 if you want to check that out, very similar to the original worms game so you should enjoy it.

Playing games should definitely help you it’s basically just physio therapy at this point, gets all your arm muscles, nerves and tendons moving so is really good for helping to improve the functionality of damaged parts.

If you snipe against other people online you’re going to make a lot of people rage quit, people hate being sniped on games like COD so be warned, you may even get messages directly off them calling you nasty things so keep that in mind when you play. Nothing wrong with sniping in my mind, it takes a lot more skill to be a sniper than to run around with a lmg and just spray and pray. I used to have sniper matches with my brother on a map called rust on COD back in the day, I used to be on his level at sniping which was quite good and then it all went to shit and now I’m terrible :brittish: good job I don’t need to snipe much in games or I’d be screwed hahaha.

It’s good that you have someone to help you out and show you the ropes and even better that you have a friend that also plays the same games as you because that’s going to be really helpful and also make the game a lot more enjoyable as well.

Hey if a good deal comes around always take it or you’ll regret it otherwise hahaha. Good job your son didn’t mind that you traded it in and it’s good that you got an amazing deal out of it, just think of it as a Christmas present from you to you hahaha.

You should give metal gear a go I think you would like that too, you get to sneak around in that game as well or shoot everyone, up to you hahaha.

I tried playing halo once, I hated it hahaha. Got an xbox 360 off one of my mums mates when me and my brother were about 10 and 12 and it only came with halo but we both hated it so ended up getting rid of the Xbox and halo.

Gamers can definitely be crazy sometimes but when you’re that invested in a franchise I suppose it’s worth it for them. I’m not that into racing games myself unless you count mario kart LOL, I’m absolutely awful at them (well I’m not everyone else is just too good at them) so I tend to avoid them really. I bet your boys were so annoyed that you beat them hahaha.

Don’t worry your long responses don’t phase me at all. It’s nice having a more in depth idea of somebody’s life, helps to understand people better. I hope you find my game suggestions useful and my explanation of how PlayStation plus works helps you out. If you have any more questions that you think I can help you with let me know, I’d be happy to help you out!

    Howdy Miss Grace,

Thank you for such a prompt reply and one that actually looks like a reply. Sometimes the one or two word or sentences annoy me a little, but I am trying to adjust to the 140 world ;)

I will definitely check out "Metal Gear" an give her a go. I always like suggestions as I have been away so long I am not familiar with the newer games.

Let me see if I get this straight if you buy games or get the free ones on Plus you lose them if you do not keep renewing your Plus account? It does not sound like a good deal to me. Maybe if you lost the free ones that would not be too big a deal. But if I bought a game I should have it for life. This is another thing I do not understand completely yet if the games are online only like a couple I have just purchased (Destiny 2 and Destiny the king something) it says online required. Without campaigns that I can play by myself or with another offline, I do not see much sense in buying them. I mean what happens if I can't afford to renew my Plus or the internet bleeps out or can't afford it I have nothing to show for my bux. I don't like that idea.

WORMS Armageddon is the first worms I ever played and now I have it for PS2 and I am so stoked that I even found it. I figured I was going to have to find a refurbished Dreamcast just to go again and throw a sheep at someone ;)

I understand the pissing people off sniping thing. Back when I played online there was an online part where it was just a free for all. It was everyone trying to kill everybody else and whenever a sniper showed up they all got pissed off. I really did not like this kind of gaming, and if that is what Plus is about I am not interested, even if my skills got amazing. When I played it was me and three other guys as a SEAL team and we were on a mission with a goal and we would try to attempt it. Sometimes we were playing an A.I. but then other times they were people like us. Another team with the goal of stopping us from reaching our goal. Now, this I really liked and hope that this kind of play is still available.

This new friend is a Sniper also. We both have Sniper Elite 4 and met in a group of folks doing that game. I don't know anything yet about the online stuff but he has invited me to join him and he will show me the ropes. It would be cool if we were able to team up as spotter and sniper and go through the campaign.

It's funny you mentioned Mario Cart, I have always wanted to take a shot at that. As far as Carbon or any other racing game I have not played any since the fire and really have no urge to. Already loafed a couple of them off at gameflop. I should have taken the time to sell em on eBay would have gotten a better deal price wise.

I don't know if you read it or not but I am in the early stages of Parkinson's, just now getting into a definitely recognizable stage 1. I have had a couple days just recently, like yesterday and the day before that it was obvious to others that something was wrong with me. Not really cool but I am going to have to just learn to live with it. I am usually really good at not caring what others think so I should be able to get a handle on this as well. I meant the Parkinson's so if I ask you a question that I have in the past and you have already responded, I would like to apologize ahead of time. Also to let you know I am really not stupid, I just have a harder time remembering things these days. SoMe days OK others not so good.

I love it when someone goes beyond the normal shallow and worse just lies or trash talk conversations. I have made some very deep friendships online, especially at the Fibro forum I belong to. MY best friend in the whole world is a man that I have never shaken his hand or laid eyes on him, well other than vid cam. Yet still, we are best friends and have been there for each other through some really bad things like his wife's recent passing. He literally does not think he would be alive if it were not for me being there for him.

That is why I try to be as honest and forthcoming as I can. I would rather expose myself to a little bad mouthing that cannot hurt me so that I can be known and to get to know others who feel the same way. Once I let my guard down I started making some very serious relationships and I highly value each and every one and am always looking out for new friends to make. You can never have enough friends. They will be there when you need them and have your back when you cannot see. My friend Fibro friend saw some posts on Facebook about me that were not very flattering. All and all-out lies. I was able to go and defend myself and others that I know jumped in and between all of us Facebook actually banned this member for the slanderous style attack against me. SO the more the merrier. I watch and listen for them they do the same for me and it is a very reassuring feeling not being alone out in this electronic landscape.

I hope to get to know you as well. I give everyone a chance and they start with 100% in all the categories of friendship what they do with it and where the levels go after that are entirely up to them. SO welcome friend and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance :)

You are very welcome for the prompt reply, I try to reply to people as quickly as I can. I like giving more in depth replies it feels more genuine and like I said, you get to properly know the person.

Glad to hear you will give it a go, maybe go and watch a video to see what it’s like and whether you would be interested in it first just in case you don’t like it, I feel that you will like it though based on the games you have played.

In regards to PlayStation plus you keep any game you purchase off the store, that’s there forever. With the membership they allow you to play online with friends and also give you a few games that you can download for free every month that you would usually have to purchase off the store if you didn’t have PlayStation plus. An example is hitman which is currently a PlayStation game of the month, without PlayStation plus you would have to buy this game for about £40 or something but which PlayStation plus you can download it and play it for free until your PlayStation plus membership runs out then you would either need to renew your membership to keep playing it or if you didn’t want the membership anymore then you would have to then purchase the game. Does that make more sense? Games you buy = keep forever, games made free for PS plus members = free until your membership expires. In terms of destiny and other online exclusive games the developers are catering for team play, they know that the majority of people like playing with friends so have solely catered for these types of people. They have not catered for people who play offline or enjoy solo missions really. If you want a game with a great story I recommend fallout 4 or any of the fallouts really, the stories are amazing and really pull you in, don’t know if you would like that type of game but I personally love fallout it’s my favourite game.

Ah it’s so good you found worms Armageddon I’m sure you’re going to have an amazing time playing it, it really is fun to play with others even if they do kill you repetitively hahaha.

Most games online can be either campaign based or where it’s a big free for all it really depends on what game you play, destiny is very campaign based and you can have a group of 3 people who work together to complete a mission so I do think you will like that once you get online. Maybe stay away from COD because although it is team based most of the time it’s kind of every man for himself if you’re just joining a lobby with people you don’t know. Although there are aims in COD online you tend to just have to get them done yourself if your team isn’t cooperative.

It’s good that you’re making friends and I think if he’s down for it then teaming up would be really fun for you both. It’s crazy how sometimes the best friendships are online ones with people that you’ve never met before. I think that online relationships are sometimes better because people can be more open about who they are and feel like they won’t be judged as much online as in the real world as the gaming community is a lot more accepting in my eyes.

You should definitely give mario kart a try then, it is really fun, I’d say the best platform for playing mario kart is probably the wii, it’s just more authentic and more like driving a car than on the Nintendo switch or DS. Yeah if there’s games you’re never going to play again you may as well sell them and get some money to go towards other games.

I think I did read somewhere you had Parkinson’s, think you mentioned it in your introduction? Maybe I’m lying hahaha read it somewhere though and I know a lot about Parkinson’s as I learn about it within my psychology course at university. This is going to sound weird but have you tried riding a bike? Riding a bike can help a bit with Parkinson’s, while you’re riding it you don’t usually shake so you could always give that a try and see if it helps you in any way. I would never think that you were stupid anyhow, I fully understand and accept issues that people have in their day to day lives and try to help make their lives easier if I can help in any way. I think it’s very rude and ignorant when people judge people on their disabilities before they know anything about them, just keep blocking people like that out because they have small minds.

I’m sure you won’t have any trouble making new friends online you seem like a really lovely man and such a genuine person, you keep being you and the happiness will follow. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance my friend :)

Thank you for all of the great insights that you have shared with me and the compliments as well. I personally think that you and I could sit and have a cup of coffee and talk on for quite a while ;)

I have Fallout Las Vegas or New Vegas maybe. I only plugged it in once and not for long I just wanted a little glimpse of what it was. It looked very interesting and I planned to revisit it. And I will now much faster since you recommend the other issue of the franchise. There should be a lot of commonalities between them. So that is now on the soon list.

I like the Destiny game so online with it would be cool. I will have to see if I can get on with just the PSN. Well, maybe I have not been on with any of my games just the couple of free ones from Sony.

Bicycle huh? I would never have considered that. I fall down sometimes and it seems that would be worse. For no apparent reason, I fell back in November and cracked a bunch of my ribs. It delayed my returning to Texas by several weeks. The bike may actually help with the balance. I do not know but I will try. My brother has a bike in the garage that does absolutely nothing.

Thank you for your kindness and for being my new friend :)

Battery is starting to run really low, the energy is fading pretty quick so I will have to check back in L8ter. Have an awesome evening and I am glad no more "Slip sliding away". Oh, that is from a song that you most likely do not know. It was quite a few ago when it was on the charts ;)

You are most welcome! And I think we could also but I don’t like hot drinks so I’ll just stick to water while you have a coffee hahaha.

Yeah all the fallouts are quite similar but all with different story lines and of course the graphics improve with every game as well. The only fallout game I wouldn’t recommend is the newest one fallout 76 as that is all online and there’s no story, they have really ruined the franchise with that one, I’ve still got it though LOL.

Destiny online is good it’s nice to have a team to help you get your missions done. Sure you will branch out and find a lot more FPS games that you like as you keep exploring.

Ooh that sounds painful, hopefully that doesn’t happen again and yeah the bicycle helps you to balance a bit better, although people struggle to walk and stay upright when they go on a bike they ride it like nothing is wrong with their balance or anything. I watched a documentary on it but can’t remember what it was called to point you towards it but it’s out there somewhere. Thought it would be worth a shot mentioning it in case it can help you in any way.

You’re very welcome, I try to be kind and help people as best I can and it’s always nice to make new friends as you were saying.

You’re right I haven’t heard the song but I have heard of Simon and Garfunkel so I guess that’s something right? Hahaha. Hope you have a pleasant day in the Texas sunshine.:)
